Yes the lines can leak when they rust through.
A mains lead is the power cable for the strip heater. The mains lead is single-insulated.
Follow the heater hoses from the engine, they will lead you the heater core.

Could be inside the fuel tank, or along the lines that lead up to the engine.
could be a blown fuse or you could check by the break caliper your abs lines are there make sure the lines are not broke ripped torn etc. the lines lead to an abs sensor check the sensors make sure they are functioning properly
They lead out under the hood you will see them on the upper passenger side in the engine compartment. I am sure you can follow them from there. If memory serves they run from the engine to the water pump.
