It certainly could. While not at the top of the list, honey Allergies, especially to unfiltered honey, are not at all uncommon, and manifest as you describe. If you start to react strongly, or have trouble breathing, it's 911 time. If it's just a rash, cease the honey and try an antihistamine (I like Diphenhydramine for this one). Take it as per the instructions on the box.
NO! An allergy is something that produces a histamine reaction. You can only be allergic to proteins, and sugar is a carbohydrate. You can have trouble managing sugar (e.g. diabetes), or you can be allergic to some pollens that are sometimes in some types of sugar (e.g. honey), but your body absolutely requires sugars to live, so you can't be allergic to it.
None that I know of. Honey is one of the purest foods that you can buy but maybe some people are allergic to honey.
no i am allergic to bees and have no trouble at all eating honey. if you have shortness of breath it may be a food allergy
There are no specific symptoms relating to honey or other foods (unless an anaphylactic shock had been triggered). Symptoms of allergy or food intolerance tend to vary from person to person although some symptoms are commonly shared.
Hi, just wondering, are you allergic to honey, or is this just a random question? And my research indicates no, it needs to be bee honey. Hi, just wondering, are you allergic to honey, or is this just a random question? And my research indicates no, it needs to be bee honey.
unless you are allergic to it, then yes.

Yes! Actually, you can even put honey on a bee sting to reduce the pain.
yes if you are allergic or if you receive a lot of stings. Each sting increases your chances of a fatal reaction. Killer bees are a more aggressive strain of honey bee so it is more likely you will receive multiple stings.
Sort of. Some people have allergies that may be exacerbated by honey, but most of the problems are related to the specific plants from which the honey was created. Allergies to honey are very rare. See related links for information about a study of honey-related allergies.
