Hitler was an extremely minor figure at the time the treaty was signed and had no input whatsoever on it. However, he clearly did not abide by its terms once he came into power; one of the provisions prohibited Germany from rebuilding its military power.

Hitler should have been grateful for the Versailles treaty, though, since its harsh terms contributed greatly to the dissatisfaction in Germany that allowed his rise to power.

What is significant about hitlers actions in Rhineland?

Hitler "remilitarized" the Rhineland in 1935. The Rhineland is that portion of Germany west of the Rhine River, on the same side as France. Under the terms of the Versailles Treaty the Rhineland was to be "demilitarized" - no troops could be based there, no fortifications built, and so on. Hitler also restarted the German Air Force in 1935, another thing forbidden by the Treaty of Versailles. At this point German rearming had not progressed very far, and had the French and British acted to force Hitler to abide by the terms of the Versailles Treaty, the war might have been averted. But they did nothing more than protest.

What was the concessions demanded of Germany at the peace conferences?

If you mean World War 2, the Germans had to be occupied by four countries and abide by the Postdam Conference. See Link Below. If you mean World War 1, the Germans had 14 points they had to abide by whether they liked it or not. They were very bitter about their surrender reparations they had to meet and it fueled Adolph Hitler to disregard it and start a war. See Link Below.

How did the treaty Versailles fail?

The treaty needed to be less harsh. It had basically stripped Germany from its power by reducing their army to 10,000 men, banning their air force, taking a whole lot of their land, blaming the ENTIRE Great War (World War I) on Germany. They also put Germany in huge debt, forcing them to pay for the costs of the war. But the most ironic failure of the treaty is that Germany doesn't follow them; eventually they break it and start taking over neighboring countries, which is World War II. Its ironic because the whole purpose of the Versailles Treaty was to prevent another war such as World War I from happening ever again. The treaty had no weapons to defend other countries, and get rid of the guy trying to start the war.

How did Hitler take over Europe in the first 2 years?

Hitler was able to take over Europe through strategic military strategies, such as the Lutwaffe (German Air Force), and through forceful invasions of countries within Europe. Even when nonaggression pacts were agreed upon between Hitler and Europe and the United States, his fingers where crossed and he basically took the benefits the pact gave him, but blew off all the terms that he was supposed to abide by. Hitler also attempted to extend his influence, keeping in mind their we're those that agreed in parallel with his hatred of Jews. Through military force and manipulation, Hitler was able to extend his presence through many parts of Eurpoe.
