Nobody in medieval Europe had access to tomatoes, potatoes, chocolate, squash, maize (sweetcorn) or any other product of the Americas - because the Americas were not discovered until after the medieval period.

Only foods native to Europe were eaten in Europe, apart from various dried fruits and spices imported from Asia.

Tomatoes were domesticated by the Native Americans and did not reach Europe until long after Columbus first went to America. Even then, because they are related to the Deadly nightshade, they were thought to be poisonous for many years. They were sometimes called Love Apples.

So, in Tudor times tomatoes were basically unknown in England.
