The â??Fourteen Pointsâ?? was a speech given by Woodrow Wilson calling World War1 a moral and just cause and discussing the path to peace. It also called for a policy that would provide. free trade. open agreements, democracy and self-determination. As this was the only post World War I plan presented, it was used to provide the terms for surrender of the Germans in World War I.

Technically, Wilson's fourteen points did not succeed. However, countries in Europe would accept the plan but the US denied most of the points.
