If you are asking why Japan declared war against the United States, it is because of America's stance on China. In 1937, Japan invaded China and began pillaging the country. Since they were a United States ally, Roosevelt demanded that Japan withdraw. When the Japanese refused, America stopped selling Japan oil and scrap metal, which they relied upon for their military campaigns. And staged a Naval embargo. Subsequently, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in the hopes of securing the Pacific Ocean for a period of 6-months, hoping to scare America into leaving them alone after that.

They also bombed Darwin, Australia. Japan was, and still is, quite overpopulated, and they had aim towards Australia - apparently underpopulated. Their Propaganda phrase was "The great Asia Sphere of Co-prosperity". For their sweep through SE Asia was to capture the rubber and oil in Burma (Myanmar).

If you are asking why Japan was angry at U.S. during the war, then the answer is fairly obvious. In addition to massive amounts of propaganda and the fact that U.S. troops were killing Japanese soldiers on a daily basis, the United States Air Force also burned down nearly every city in Japan via firebombing. The firebombing of Tokyo actually killed more people than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.

The famous bombing done in retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii is called the "Doolittle Raid". Airmen took many bombers and bombed Tokyo. The rest of the war was about stopping Japan's Imperialism and killing.
