The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be enabled
or disabled by your authorized dealer or by
following these steps:
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and
buckle the driver's seat belt.
2. Start the engine and wait for the Seat Belt Warning
Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.
NOTE: Watch for the Seat BeltWarning Light to turn on
while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt.
It may be necessary to retract the seat belt.
To turn off the seatbelt chime in 2006-2008 Dodge Rams and some other newer Dodge vehicles, follow this procedure: Get in the vehicle, close the door, put on your seatbelt. Start the engine, wait for the seatbelt light to turn off. Within 30 seconds of the light turning off, unbuckle and re-buckle the seatbelt 4 times, making sure the seatbelt light responds (turns on and off) each time you unbuckle and re-buckle the belt. Ending with the seatbelt BUCKLED, turn off your engine. If done correctly, you will immediately hear one chime to verify the programming. To re-enable the chime, simply repeat this procedure. NOTE: Although the seatbelt chime will not chime constantly if your belt is not buckled while driving, it WILL still chime when you first start your engine, and the seatbelt light will stay on to remind you. The light can be deactivated also, but it is a much more complicated (and I feel unnecessary) procedure. WARNING!!!: DO NOT deactivate the seatbelt chime by cutting or splicing the wires to the seatbelt buckle under the seat. THIS WILL DISABLE YOUR AIRBAGS even if your belt is buckled!!! AIRBAGS are DEADLY if your belt is not buckled, so there is a sensor in the buckle which disables the airbags when the belt is not buckled. If you cut or splice these wires, you also disable that sensor. Turning off the chime using the programming option keeps your airbags working properly. Hope this helps, ENJOY YOUR DODGE!!! -Mike Vidal, Forked River, NJ
You follow the law and wear the seatbelt.
There is not an individual fuse for the seat belt chime. Check your owners manual for the "enhanced saftey system" for a method to turn it off.
Buckle the seat belt around the back of the seat

look for the wire on the seat belt and follow it until you find where it plugs in under the seat and disconnect it.
1)begin with the key in any position except for on or start. buckle the driver seatbelt. 2)Turn the key to on but do not start. Wait for the seatbelt light to turn off. 3)within ten seconds, unbuckle and buckle the driver seatbelt at least three times. 4)turn the key to the lock position and wait for a single chime to indicate the program was successful. Another option: Get on the net and type in "seatbelt alarm stop". Or you wear the seat belt like the law says in most areas.
Alright I've found the solution, the seatbelt connection has 2 wires leading to it, cut both wires and splice together, problem solved :D
I have the same problem and paid $80.00 at the Dodge dealer to be told, The trigger spring module in the steering column needs to be replaced. About $400.00 I have decided to find a way to disable the light and chime.
The chime sound comes out of the instument cluster. The chime sound comes out of the instument cluster.
Always wear your seatbelt! However to disable chime try this:I GOT THIS TO WORK! may not work on all years/models (also check manual that came with truck)this is kind of weird, but it worked for me.the first part is just like how the book says, but the last part is a little different....1. *parking brake off* with the engine off buckle your seatbelt, then turn the engine on and wait until the seatbelt light goes off.2. unbuckle and buckle the seatbelt 3 times finishing with the seatbelt buckled.**this is where it's kinda weird**3. turn the key *slowly* so that the power to the radio goes off but the engine is running, you should now here a CHIME and the parking brake indicator light will come on now also. PAUSE. then turn the ignition off all the way, you should now here another CHIME.A BETTER OPTIONHere is another option that is much simpler and installs in 2 seconds! What is better yet, you can take it with you and use it in other vehicles. Get on the net and type in"seat belt alarm stop"
there is no light chime fuse
