Abraham of the Old Testament is the Christian's spiritual father, not like God our Father, but we are connected to Abraham spiritually (Romans 4:1; 4:12, James 2:21-23).
The Old Testament is our example for many things. Also Christians do not follow the Law of Moses when it comes to ceremonial laws, rites, sacrifices, holidays or abstaining from certain foods, but we do follow God's laws and they are backed up by Jesus in the New Testament.
