How using rubber bullets has changed the way policing is today?

To some degree, but at least in Canada "Taser" is what is in. There is controversy over the Taser because of a small percentage of deaths (in most cases the victim was on drugs at the time.) I agree with rubber bullets and Taser. We can hardly expect our police officers to put their lives on the line every day without some form of defence. If I had my way both would be used along with dogs being set loose. Crime has rapidly gone up in the U.S. and Canada. While some police officers feel the power of having criminals in their power (with I can do anything I want attitude) the majority of police officers are doing their job and so using rubber bullets or the Taser gun is better than having to kill someone with a regular gun. The public never seems to realize that for police officers who have killed someone they feel very depressed and at odds with themselves. That's why they have police psychiatrists.

What is Rush Tazing?

It's a rule on many GTA San Andreas Multiplayer roleplay game servers which disallows roleplay police officers to taser a suspect with a firearm out.

When do the police know when to use there taser?

(1) the real purpose for Taser is a firearm alternative but of course police officers are misusing it Taser's were suppose to be use in the event that a fire arm could be use but not necessary safe like for example a man with a knife if he runs to a police officer the officer has the right to shoot but it would be good to use a simple Taser but law enforcement officers are using it like a compliance device or a device that makes a subject comply for example if a police officer tells you to get out of your vehicle and you don't comply they can't Taser or pepper spray or shoot you with his gun but in the real world police have no boundurys they have the badge to break the law.(2) Yes. Sometimes police officers abuse the use of Taser. Taser plays the devil's role in cases of police brutality which has been very common in the United States nowadays.ADDED: Both the first and second answers are products of the contributor's own opinions and mindsets. Tasers are NOT a substitute for firearms, nor were they ever meant to be. They are a substitute for the use of physical force, or other traditional non-lethal weapons as police batons (aka: 'billy clubs' or nightsticks), or blackjacks. The use of any of the last category actually (and statistically) bears more of a risk of physical trauma and injury than does the use of tasers. Nowhere in their job description is it stated that law enforcement officers are required to go hands-on and physical with every arrestee who chooses to resist them, assault them, or who attempts to flee from arrest. The occasional mis-use of tasers does, unfortunately occur. However if I had the choice of being inappropriately shot with a sidearm, or my brains scrambled with a baton, I believe that I would opt for the momentary discomfort of a taser every time! Occasional individual mis-use notwithstanding, the taser is a well proven tool for law enforcement that, in and of itself, has yet to be successfully legally challenged.

Why do you need armed police?

Because there are many suspects and criminals who are armed. The officers carry lethal force= handgun, and non-lethal force= expandable baton, pepper spray, and taser.

What is a tazer?

Tasers* are non-lethal, self defense products. These electronic control devices use propelled wires to conduct an electrical discharge, which affects the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system. The replaceable Taser cartridge contains compressed nitrogen to deploy two small probes that are attached to the Taser. The Taser C2, Taser M18 and Taser X26C can also be used as a direct contact stun gun device. Because any one individual can have less tolerance for shock, there have been fatalities linked to the use of tasers, even when properly and judiciously used. *TASER is a brand name for a product that projects stun probes. A stun gun is NOT the same thing as a TASER.
