No, the transfer case 'Shifter Sheet' (not seat) is changed by removing the shifter from the inside of the vehicle.

I recommend you get a manual and learn how to remove the shifter. Several are available for free download.

It has been a while but from memory I can say that the rubber boot inside is pulled up followed bu the shifter rubber dust boot underneath, then you can push down on the retainer that is around the shifter and give it a 1/4 twist CCW to get it off, the shifter should pop out by pulling up on it. As I recall the knob has to be removed to replace the 'Sheet'.

On a Suzuki samurai transfer case how can you tell if the shifting forks are aligned?

The square cut-outs in the shifting rods are aligned with each other when you look down the transfer case shifting hole when assembled in neutral. If they are not, use a big flat blade to align them before replacing the shifter sheet and installing the shifter arm.

Why is your suzuki samurai transmission stuck in gear?

the pin is broke inside the shifter case. put it in neutral, if possible, and unbolt the 4 bolts holding the case in place. it should take a 12mm. once you remove the shifter, the little pin inside the shifter case should be wiggly. just replace it. i did it when i was 12
