You can work in very few areas such as babysitting and thrift shops, however you can't for most common jobs as they ask you to be 16 or have some sort of qualification.
If you are wanting to work at a restuarant or someplace else, yes. If you are working as a babysitter or lawnmower, then no. I'am fourteen and I work at this place called Chick Fil A. I get paid 7.15 per hour. Its in Springfield, MO. what should i do if i don't go to high school?

AnswerI wish i knew the answer because i am 14. Everywhere i have looked it sounds like u have to be 15. not sure though. HELP!!!I live in Rhode Island and most business's here will not hire you if you are 14 or 15 the reason being is there is not a whole lot that the company can let you do because it would be a risk to you and the employer. Example i worked for Tim Horton's and we had this young kid come in for a job, he was such a good kid but we had to turn him down because he was only 15, when you are at that age with working papers or not we can not let you touch anything that can harm you, you can't work more then 20hrs a wk you have to be out of work by 8pm no later, you can not touch anything hot which was coffee, Sandwiches, bagles, You can do no baking, you can not enter the frezzer, cashier, mop the floors, wash dishes your not even allowed to be left in the store by yourself.
I am 14 as well and i literally just found out the answer to this question yesterday. I looked through a lot of websites and it is mostly blah blah blah so here is how in simpler terms:
Visit your local permit office (the office locations vary depending on your global location)
When going to the office take with you; birth certificate or other proof of age, social security card (everyone has one, ask your parents, you are assigned one at birth), letter from the employer expressing intent to hire, on employer's regular letterhead, describing:
A written parent's consent, and a ten dollar permit fee. Some offices also ask you to bring in school records. Look up your nearest work permit offices and give them a call. I live in Wisconsin and i am still looking for a good office that is close to me. hope this helped.

Unfortunately, this question does not have an easy answer. Each state has its own laws regarding work permits. Additionally, some counties and cities have work permit requirements even though their state does not. So it depends on where you live. You will need to contact your state's department of labor or workforce service to find out if you need a work permit. Your school may also be able to help you.
Some of the other factors that may be relevant to needing a work permit include your age, the type of work you plan on doing, and the hours you plan on working.
You can go to your high school guidance counselor and obtain working papers.
yes. you will need to get working papers though.
It depends on what kind of job it is and where the work is located. If the 14 year old is going to be paid through a payroll system with taxes taken out, he will have to have a work permit.
yes you can, if you are in middle school ask your counselor.and if you are in high school ask your guidance counselor
For some jobs not all
No, you have to be at lead 16 to work without a permit. 14-year-olds and 15-year-olds can work there IF they have a permit
Working papers, available at your school, are required at the age of 14.
Sorry, the laws in most countries don't allow 11 year olds to work. In most places you have to be 14 to get a work permit. There are some exceptions for 12 year olds. You can work for your family in their business.
At mcdonalds,Publix as long as you have a work permit
The minimum age to work at a McDonalds is 14 years of age. It may vary from state to state, but no state can permit someone under 14 years of age to work at McDonalds under normal circumstances.
Well, you have to be 14 or older to get a job and you should get a work permit for school, but if your parents own the place, then you can work.
In most states 12 year olds cannot get paid if they work at a zoo due to labor laws. You may however be able to get a work permit if you meet the criteria.
Your destination is not relevant, you may not drive without the necessity of complying with ALL the requirements of your learners permit.
If you are under 18 years of age, you need to have a work permit in order to work in Apple Valley. You can get a work permit through your local high school.
Work permits are run by states. See the Employment/Age Certificate table linked to the right.
not till you git your drivers license you cant do it with your permit.
nope! you have to be 15 years old to have a working permit in the state and 16 to work legally while in school. otherwise, you probably have to be about 18 to work here.
