I do not think so and I think the primary use of a fuel tank cap is to prevent dirt from getting into the gas. Plug it with a rag (with the rag partially hanging out) until you can get a new one ( $7 @ Walmart )
AnswerThat is not a good answer.. never use a rag as it can ignite like a Molotov Cocktail... just drive a few minutes and buy a new one at like Autozone. You need a vented cap, but you need a cap. Otherwise you lose vacuum pressure and that is why on new cars it will trigger a service light to come on.Yes!!!, it is illegal to not have a cap on the fuel tank.

The second answer is correct, but don't confuse a "vented cap" with a locking gas cap. The gas cap must seal and be air tight. Normal gas caps do not actually vent anything, which is why you get the pressure release when you unscrew your gas cap. (Also:Pressure can mean "PSI" or "vacuum")
Half tank or less, fill it with fresh gasoline and drive it. More than a half tank you may want to consider draining some and refill with fresh gasoline then drive it.
They can't. They use diesel, not gasoline.
Gasoline expanse and contracts with temperature.
Gasoline being poured into a tank is not a chemical change.
This is called siphoning. The gasoline-filled tube, when the end that is not in the gas tank is lowered to a point below the tank, it creates a pressure differential inside the tube. Just as liquid pours from a glass when it is tilted, so does the gasoline flow through the tube. As long as the tube in the tank is below the level of gasoline in the tank, the gasoline will continue to flow until the flow is interrupted (or until the tank is empty).
U NEED TO REMOVE THE GAS TANK. CLEAN OUT THE RUST. PUT IN A GAS TANK SEALER. REINSTAL TANK ON CAR.
.0003 cm
Gasoline, being a blend of different hydrocarbons does not freeze at any single temperature. The heavier elements solidify at between -200 and -300F, which is darn cold.If it is that cold outside I would not drive.
you need to get the tank cleaned and may need the lines changed do not drive as sugar will destroy the engine
If it is a small amount of water add a can of Heet to the tank and fill it with gasoline. If it has allot of water you will need to pump all fuel out of the tank, add a can of Heet and fill the tank.
It is located inside the Gasoline Tank. Need to replace only if there is a problem.
It all depends on the size of the tank and how many miles per gallon the car can travel. When I have a new vehicle I always check this by filing up the tank full plus a small separate approved gasoline container and zero the trip meter. Then I drive around as usual. When the 'low gas' indicator comes on I note how many miles that is and zero the trip meter. I then continue to drive as usual until I run out of gas. By checking the trip meter I know how far I can drive after the meter warned me of a low gas tank. I then fill up from the spare gasoline container and drive to the nearest gas station and fill up. By adding these two numbers I know how many miles I can drive on one tank of gas and I know how far I can drive when the 'low gas' warning goes off. You can also calculate this by finding out the size of the gas tank and how many miles the car will get to the gallon and multiply these numbers.
