The president must be a natural born citizen of the US. An individual may also be an American citizen by birth if he or she was born to U.S. parents outside of the United States. The US Constitution says that the Vice President must meet the same qualifications as the President. That means he or she must be at least 35 years of age, and be a natural born US citizen.

It is a common misconception that the President must have been born in the United States, which is not true. But they must be a citizen at birth. A person born in Paris when his father was was serving as US Ambassador to France, for instance, would be qualified to be President. Someone born in a foreign country who later immigrates to the US is not eligible to be President, even though they become a US citizen after moving here.

No.

You have to be a natural born citizen to be eligible for the Presidency. That includes those born in the US. Also, current U.S. statutes define various categories of individuals born overseas as citizens at birth, i.e. natural born, including (for example) all persons "born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents both of whom are citizens of the United States and one of whom has had a residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions, prior to the birth of such person[s]."

Not exactly. You have to be a "natural born US Citizen" but, as a natural born citizen you can have been born on a military base that is not located in the US, in a US territory, or born in any Another Country if you have at least one parent who is a US citizen and has established residency in the US for a minimum of 14 years, and gets the proper forms from the US authorities in the foreign country to prove the birth there.

See more about the qualifications to be US president in the related question below about Barack Obama's citizenship. He is a natural born US citizen since he was born in the US in Honolulu, Hawaii.
