absolutely. The cause of sarcoidosis is unk. The running theory is it requires a genetic predisposition (born with it) and an unk exposure. (all the stuff in the sand) There have been some case reports of soldiers with sarcoid but I not aware of any large studies.
I would certainly recommend getting a Gulf War exam at the VA. It isn't for treatment but for keeping up with all of the diseases that appear in war vets. If a large number of vets are dx'ed it will flag and initiate further study.
