Yes, according to the Haynes Repair Manual, the 4 cylinder OHV engines had one. It should be located at the rear of the engine next to the flywheel. On the diagram, it looks like it's on the driver's side and mounted by two small bolts to the transmission bell where it meets the engine block. Follow the wire and the exhaust pipe to it.
Dodge Dakota V6's didn't have a crank sensor until 1992.
Top of the bell housing, pass side, behind the cylinder head.
Inside the distributor
top of bellhousing
No crank sensor on a 1990, only the pickup plate (cam sensor) in the distributor. how about a 1991?
Top passenger side of the bell housing. Look behind the passenger side cylinder head.
If the crank sensor is not working, the engine will not run.
most crank sensors are for engine timing with the cam shaft, the distributor on at least 97' dodge and newer controls fuel timing.
No, just the distributor pick up plate (cam sensor)
Under the front of the right cylinder head. If you look up from underneath you can see the three wire connecter. ************please note that this answer is wrong...this is the location of the CRANK SHAFT SENSOR****************

The cam sensor on a Dodge 4.7L is under the front outside of the passenger side cylinder head.
