My toothbrush uses ultrasonic vibrations to help clean my teeth and gums. The sound of an ultrasonic dog whistle can be heard by dogs, but not by humans.
Sonograms, dog whistles, Sonar.
Depending on what type of dog whistle, they probably can hear at least some of the sound frequencies. Although I know of no research on this particular subject it is entirely likely that they can.
There is a dog whistle that only dogs can hear because they can hear higher frequencies than humans. However, it has been found that both dogs and kids can hear, but adults can't. This is because as people age, they are not able to hear sounds above a certain frequency. The pitch, in other words, is too high for them. Being able to hear a dog whislte only means that you can hear higher frequencies.
The dog hears the sound but we don't. The human ear can only detect sounds of a frequency between 20 cycle/second and 20,000 cycles/second at the very best. Dogs can hear sounds with a greater frequency. A typical a dog whistle is within the range of 16000 cycles/second to 22000 cycles/second. To put it more technically, a dog's inner ear vibrates or resonates to the high frequency sound waves of a dog whistle but our ears do not. Its the same with bats, they are constantly sending out high frequency sounds, to locate flying insects but our inner ears don't resonate at those high frequencies and so we don't hear the constant "chirping" sound that they are making. You can make your computer generate a dog whistle, go to the related links below.
A dog's hearing is sensitive to the high ultrasonic frequencies like a dog whistle, they may feel the ground trembling in the very low infrasonic frequencies.
You must use whatever name, word, sound, whistle, or gesture that the dog has trained you to use whenever you expect him to respond.
its mostly mammals such as dogs cats rats
Not to low, to high. Like a high pitched sound that only dogs care hear, like a dog whistle.
The frequency of the sound is too high for humans to hear, but dogs have more sensitve ears and can hear at higher frequencies.
Dogs can't whistle... Oh, wait a minute... purchase a "dog whistle" from a pet store, then imitate its' qualities.
