Yes, because the shifter linkage connects to the transmission on the front, and there are generally some metal brackets to be damaged. Depending on the severity of the impact, these could very well be damaged.

How can I repair the metal hose that is inside of the plastic cap and pulling the antifreeze but do not see where, and drips between monobloc and automatic transmission
Shift point setting may not properly set at the right pressure. This is controlled by the TV or shift cable. If you look where the air butterfly plate is under the hood, or air control, the 2nd cable attached next to the throttle cable on the side is the TV cable. There is a metal tab that can be pushed in to release the cable housing to adjust the transmission shift points. It only takes a couple of clicks at a time to make a difference in your shift pattern, so go a little at a time.
That section is called the gear shift linkage. Most likely, the clutch cable ends in an "end loop", which is a circle on the end of the clutch cable. There's a metal ball at the bottom of the shift lever (the gear shift, the thing you change gears with) that goes into the end loop. This metal ball going into the end loop is called "Ball Joint Linkage". The little fastener that keeps the ball and the end joint together is called a bushing. Don't let a mechanic replace your clutch cable when all you have is a broken bushing!
The inside metal part of a cable is usually made of copper and is where, if it is an electrical cable, the electricity is conducted.
Transmission pans can be cast metal, stamped metal, or plastic.
Unhook the speedometer cable from the transmission and the instrument cluster in the dash. Take the actually metal cable out. Clean it with solvent. Re-grease with "lithium-based" lubricant. Re-insert. Also check for fraying. If so, replace cable.
Fiber optic cables utilize glass or plastic fibers instead of metal wires to transmit data. A fiber optic cable allows for a higher rate of the transmission of data, which is good for things like the internet.
my 2001 ford windstar will turn over and make a clanking noise like metal to metal is hitting? Just replaced the starter and had the battery checked what would be the problem?
Metal in the transmission pan indicates a problem with the transmission. The most likely cause is gears grinding against one another, shaving off small bits of metal as they do so.
It MAY be related to the "downshift" linkage. Some vehicles use a linkage between the throttle body/carburater and the transmission. If the downshift linkage is adjusted wrong you could have the problem you are describing. On the other hand, if it's a computer controlled transmission, it could just be a sensor. But yes, it could also be a transmission problem.Have the transmission serviced. Complete fluid change and new filter. If that doesn't help, then take it to a professional.AnswerAnswer to my own question. I changed fluids, there were large broken pieces of metal in the pan. Took it to a shop, and there is no second gear, it was shifting from first to third. Victoria Transmission would rebuild one from old parts ($800) or a new rebuilt ($1300) and $500 to install or $100 from PicknPull and take a chance.
