First thing you need to do is remove the oil sending unit from the right rear back of intake manifold. Get a oil pressure gauge and screew into it's place, start engine and
watch gauge to see what is really going on. If it is not droping no more then a few
LBS. Then replace sending unit. Oil Pressure should read.
1000 RPM no less then 6 LBS.
2000 RPM-----------------18 LBS
4000 RPM-----------------24 LBS.
This is the minimum amount of oil pressure to stay in safe range. Higher PSI is fine too.
