The heart doesn't really care what you do, but it cares a lot about how long, and how hard you do it. If you walk, or ride for the same amount of time, and with the same effort, you get the same exercise.
Well it is good and its bad. It is good because you need to get in shape, but the bad part is if you do it to much your heart is going to probably going to stop.
