yes it does one in the rocker cover and one down at the sump
There are a number of places to look up information about oil filters. Some websites which offer information are Fram Catalog and Wix Filters. Napa Filters and Oil Filters Online are two other sites which offer information regarding oil filters.
One engine oil filter, and two trans oil filters. The engine filter is on the right front of the engine. The trans filters are in the trans pan.
It has two filters in the oil pan
No. Only one.
Two and an o-ring are supplied in the oil filter replacement kit..
One filter is a normal full flow filter between the oil pump and the main oil gallery. It cannot be very fine or there is a risk of oil starvation as it becomes more clogged. To provide fine filtering, a second filter takes a proportion of the oil from the main gallery and filters it back into the sump. I guess it works as I change my Midis oil and filters as specified and the engine has done 176,000 miles.
It is on the gearbox look for two wires and a bracket with one blot that its it about £ 15 from fords

The wrong oil filter can cause many problems. Low oil pressure is one of them. Remove the filter and install the correct one. Have been using Sakura oil filters for the last two years and have low oil pressure around 5lbs on idle with hot engine(measured with oil gauge) and the oil light taking around 8 seconds to go off on cold start up, thinking this was a worn oil pump or bearings i almost ordered a new oil pump and bearings($1000) when i thought i shall try different filters, read about how good Ryco filters are so bought one main filters and bypass filter, i could not belive the results on start up, oil pressure at 55lbs at cold and stays at 30lbs when hot, so how many engines have been rebuilt as the mechanics have thought its a worn engine when infact it was just the oil filters. The Sakura filters were bought new from a major retailer, the only thing that worries me now is how many thousand of miles it has it taken of the engine.
The 2000 Ford Ranger Owner Guide shows , for the 2.5 liter four cylinder , ( Motorcraft FL-400S ) but fordparts.com shows ( Motorcraft FL-400-S and Motorcraft FL-400-A ) for the 2.5 liter four cylinder in a 2000 Ford Ranger . I don't know what the difference is between the two filters , anybody know ?
Fram crosses it to one of two filters. Either a PH9837 or a PH3675
