my 2001 neon has a chip keywell iahev a 2001 Dodge neon and mine does have a chip ignition. you would have to go to the dealer to get it made. If you did get a copy of the key made anywhere else it would only work to open the door it wouldn't work to start the car.

Does a 2000 Saturn SC2 have a chip key?

No, the 2000 Saturn SC2 does not have a chip key. It uses a standard metal key without any electronic transponder. This means that the ignition system does not require a coded key for starting the vehicle, making it simpler than later models that incorporate chip keys for added security.

Does a Saab 9-7x ignition key have a chip in it?

Yes, the ignition key for a Saab 9-7x is equipped with a transponder chip. This chip is part of the vehicle's anti-theft system and communicates with the car's ignition to allow it to start. If the key doesn't have the correct chip, the vehicle will not start.

Is the chip in the ignition switch or in the key?

The chip is typically located in the key, not in the ignition switch. This key contains a transponder chip that communicates with the vehicle's ignition system to allow the engine to start. When the key is inserted into the ignition, the system reads the chip's unique code to verify its authenticity. If the code matches, the vehicle will start; if not, it will not allow the engine to run.
