Earth's tilted axis causes the seasons. Throughout the year, different parts of Earth receive the Sun's most direct rays. So, when the North Pole tilts toward the Sun, it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere. And when the South Pole tilts toward the Sun, it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

It is the tilt of the Earth as it revolves around the Sun that causes the seasons, by changing the angle and duration of sunlight reaching areas of each hemisphere. The poles will alternate their angles, either toward (summer) or away (winter) from Sol (Sun).

Summer in the northern hemisphere is winter in the southern, and vice versa. Between these two extremes are spring and fall. Areas closer to the equator experience much less seasonal variation in daylight.

The Earth's spin axis is what allows us to have different seasons on Earth. When the earth's axis is facing the sun that is when we have the season summer.

the angles at which the sun rays strike the earth( AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR ALL THAT READING T'F)

The Earth's physical tilt changes all the time but extremely slowly fluctuating between 22.1° and 24.5° every 42,000 years.

The Earth's magnetic poles currently drifts about 45km a year, may switch suddenly as "geomagnetic reversal" like 780,000 years ago.

No, the tilt is constant with respect to the plane of the earth's orbit around the sun. As the earth travels in its orbit one pole or the other will point to toward the sun.

Seasons occur because the earths axis is 23.5˚ of the suns, resulting in one half of the year, the Southern Hemisphere is further away (winter) and the northern hemisphere is closer (summer) and vise verser. Countries around the equator remain quite consistent in temperature.

The Inclination, not to be confused with the 23 degree 'axial tilt' of the earth, describes the orbital plane of the earth.

All of the planets orbits are irregular. Although roughly circular, the paths are actually elliptical. Furthermore, they are not all `level` or in the same plane when viewed from the side.

If the solar system were represented by putting objects on a circular table with a flat surface, then in reality sometimes the planets represented by the objects should be slightly above the table surface and sometimes below the surface.

For astronomical uses, the Earths inclination is often set as the reference point, so its 0 degrees. All other planets orbital planes are then compared to ours, so we would orbit the sun on the flat surface of the table (The elliptical inclination).

The suns equator may also be used a reference point instead though - we would then be talking about the inclination to the suns equator.

The seasons do not change due to earth's rotation on its axis. Seasonal change is due to the fact that the earth revolves around the sun and also that its axis of rotation is not perpendicular to the plane of rotation of its orbit around the sun. revolution of earth causes seasons on earth.revolution of earth means rotation of the earth around the sun.rotation of the earth means earth rotates around itself.the earth needs 365 days to rotate the sun(for a revolution)

Earth's tilt

Why is the worlds on a axis?

The axis is actually an imaginary line that the Earth spins around. It represents the tilt of the Earth relative to its orbit.

How do you know the distance between the earth and the sun is not a factor in why there are seasons?

In the northern hemisphere, the Earth is actually closer to the sun during winter than it is in the summer. Seasons are actually caused by the Earth's tilt.

Earth's tilt

How do seasons changes?

They change by the tilt of the earth's axis!

What is the reason for seasons?

The reason we have season is because of Earth's tilt. Many believe that it is the location of the sun to the Earth. Actually, as the Northern Hemisphere tilts towards the sun it is summer and as it tilts away it's winter. And vis versa for the Southern Hemisphere.

Does the earth's tilt change as it rotates around the sun?

No. Earth's tilt does not change as Earth revolves around the sun.

Property of earth which causes seasons?

The Earth's rotational axial tilt causes the seasons.
