Does the front transmission seal on a 1994 Chevy Blazer S10 4 wheel drive have to be put in from the front or from behind the front pump plate?

You carefully pluck the old one out, and use something like a peice of PVC pipe to hammer the new one in. It probably won't fix your problem though. Take the transmission to a shop, and have them do it for you, and at the same tiem, have them replace the pump's bushing. It requires disassembly of the pump, and special tools to replace the bushing.
