Drivers side lock on peugeot 306 wont unlock but will lock why?

The first and cheepest thing to check is the fuses. located on the side of the dash by the passengers door, another is under the hood on top of the battery. I have the same problem with my 99 explorer.I've removed the door panel and sprayed the lock mechanism with carburetor cleaner and it has improved. The power unlock works about 50%.After closer inspection I also noticed a small spring is missing from the drivers door lock and is present on all the other locks.My next effort will be to find and attach a small spring back in place.

my peugeot 306 has a twin headlight on drivers side and a single unit on passenger is that normal

This just happened to me today- connect the battery, put your key in the drivers side door, lock then unlock. That's it.

it is just under the drivers side mirror...a small bulb!!

if it is a factory alarm, you have to unlock the door with a key from the outside. most likely the switch is busted on the drivers side so try the passengers side. if it works, go buy a switch for the drivers side. the switch is on the end of door lock cylinder.
