The character who offers Gilgamesh this sage advice is Siduri, a divine beer-maker and tavern-keeper. Siduri urges Gilgamesh to embrace the simple joys of life, cherish the present moment, and find contentment in the ordinary pleasures that life has to offer.
The measurement of relish equivalent to 8 sweet pickles can vary depending on the size of the pickles and the consistency of the relish. However, as a general guideline, you can estimate that approximately 1/4 to 1/3 cup of relish is equivalent to 8 sweet pickles. This estimation is based on the typical volume of relish and the fact that relish is finely chopped or minced, which condenses its volume compared to whole pickles. It's always a good idea to adjust the measurement based on personal preference and the specific recipe you're using.
Any produce, including fresh herbs, will go bad eventually, even in the refrigerator. If the dill is dried, then it can be stored much longer in a tightly sealed container.
Yes. This used to be popular. Experiment in order to adjust to taste. If it's too sharp, try putting it on low heat, below the boiling point (in a ventilated kitchen), which seems to sweeten it somewhat; or diluting.
I just called the Ocean Spray 800 number... 800 662 3263... and spoke to a live person !! Ocean Spray Cran-Orange has been DISCONTINUED !!! The woman on the other end said she would pass my comments on to management. So I suggest that if, like me, you are disappointed... then call the number and let them know. Maybe we can get a movement started.
Thanks for this info. I've been looking for Cran-Orange also. I'll give the company a call. Now to figure out what to use in my recipe?!
LAUREL, MD
Same problem here. I went to our local major stores (Giant, Safeway and another.) NONE HAD IT! So I was hoping what u said wasn't so: It's been discontinued.
So I too will call Ocean-Spray.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN REPLICATE MY AUNT'S RECIPE. It was a tub of Cran-orange w/ 2 pkgs of Cherry jello...and I think nuts and maybe marshmellow. How does one sub the cran-orange! It was great with TURKEY!!!
It will stay for quite a while, because of the acid in the ketchup bacteria has trouble growing in or on it.
Yes. All organic matter spoils at one point or another, but pickles last much longer than many foods because of the fermentation process. Pickles are simply cucumbers that have been placed in a solution or salt brine solution in large, uncovered vats. They are left to ferment from one to three months then salt is gradually added to complete the process. Fermenting pickles encourages the growth of helpful bacteria, which prevents the growth of microorganisms that cause decay.
The company ceased trading a couple of years ago, you cant buy it anymore. Cross and blackwell piccalilli tastes even btter.

Mom relished the thought of traveling to Europe, but Dad was determined to stay home.

When he won the gold medal last winter, he relished his moment of glory.
Grampa always enjoyed his job, but he truly relished time with the gradchildren when he finally retired.
My great grandmother told me the story of how the name "puppy chow" originated. When mom's would make this treat for their children, they started begging for the treat like little "puppies" , then would CHOW down on it once they received it.
If it's unopened, it can last up to 2 years. If it's opened and refrigerated, it can last several weeks or months.
Also if you leave it out even for a few hours it will get bacteria in it and then it is bad right away, so always make sure you put it away right away or throw it away, if you forget. The bacteria look like little white worms and they are very nasty. They should have more info about every product and sample pictures of what they look like when they go bad. Sadly the idiots at health dept don't think safety is really all that important enough to keep people informed they are all about the money if there is no money in it, they aren't interested.
