You need to gather all your stuff beforehand:
A kidney-shaped bowl or other receptacle.
A large sirynge
Alcohol swabs
A "blue" pad or other coveing, or a towel
Sterile saline solution,
Lay down the pad or plastic protector (or towel) on the bed or a side table. (I am not sure if you can do this sitting down . My husband stayed in bed for the procedure)
Wash your hands carefully with soap and water and dry with a clean towel or a paper towel
Fill a large syringe with sterile saline solution and hold it so the tip doesn't touch anything. You can use a sterile pad to lay it down, but with practise you'll became a pro.
Disconect the tubbing from the foley catheter.
Unwrap an alcohol swab and clean around the opening of the catheter
Conect the syringe to the foley opening and slowly push the solution in
Remove the syringe and let the saline solution drip out of the catheter.
Repeat.
Clean again around the catheter opening and the tube opening with an alcohol swab and conect again the tubing to the catheter
Make sure you do not put the saline into the side tube that inflates the ballon, it has to go inthe end of the catheter
Ask your doctor how much saline to use , I use abot 30 cc's, but my husband has a spastic bladder. Some nurse use boiled and cooled water , but I think is better to use sterile saline to avoid infections. If you do use boiled water, take great care to avoid cross-contamination (wich I think is impossible to do, boiling the water on the stove)
Hope it helped and good luck. It will get much easier after the second or third time.
Each flush of a toilet uses the same amount of water.
1.6 - 3.5 gpf
depends on the amount of coconuts. If you need a quick dump place, the toilet is perfect for flushing coconuts.
It might. Depending on the amount of blockage in the core. Don't apply too much pressure, you may cause a leak.
Water....seriously. just guzzle it down throughout the day to especially during the half hour before the test. It will dilute the urine.....hopefully.
YES - BY back flushing the heater core-same as back flushing the engine block-just use a garden hose. Usually 'Stop Leak' will not clog the core. Try flushing the cooling system out first. Note: The hot water goes in and the cooler water comes out. Flush the core going the other way so to clear any obstructions. If there is a clog, it might be something larger like bits of hose or corrosion. If the core is totally clogged, take it out and replace it with a new one. The amount of time you will spend doing this does not warrant using an old or used core.
Can't say this is the case for you, but an excessive amount of Niacin (B3) in your diet can cause flushing (redness) and itching. The flushing is evident on the face and skin, while the itching can feel like it's all over or inside.
A small amount such as an ounce or two could be treated with treatments of dry gas with the next few fill ups. A larger quantity of water would require dropping the fuel tank and flushing the system.
Although very little electricity is given off by the catheter, the instrument does generate a large amount of heat.
Yes it does. Terrible headaches. For a couple of reasons. A large amount must be smoked to get little if any effect. That alone can cause headaches. Also depending on what fertilizers where used in growing, and if proper flushing of the toxins was performed before harvesting.
Yes, but it's not due to "flushing fluids through" your system. It would be due to causing a hypotonic (not enough salt and other electrolites) blood. It's not a nice way to go. I'm a doctor
