Could be heater plugs if its a diesel or maybe the battery.
Check the earth (ground) cables between the engine and body for cleanliness and security of connection. Turn the ignition key, you should hear the starter solenoid 'click'. If it does, the cable from the battery to the starter is a fused link, connect a starter cable between the battery and starter motor solenoid and try to start. If there is no 'click' the fault is either the ignition switch or the wiring from the solenoid to it. If the car is automatic it should only start in Park (P) and Neutral (N). check the operation of the gearbox start inhibit switch. If an aftermarket alarm is fitted check the security and cleanliness of the wiring connections, especially the immobilizer circuit.
the electrics work in my Ford Fiesta 1.2 zetec but when i turn the key there is nothing , but if i tow the car it starts easy , could you help ??
if the motor cranks when you turn the key it is not the starter because in order for the engine to crank the starter must be turning the motor. it could be electrical or fuel related or sensor related, ect. depending on the model and year you could check for fault codes ie:OBD 1 or OBD 2
It could be a bad starter or a bad solenoid.... If you turn the key, but motor will not turn, listen for clicking... if it clicks, possibly bad starter. best option would be to beg steal or borrow a voltmeter and measure voltage at starter motor when key is turned......
Is it a new starter motor? It may be incorrect.
It could be that there is a bad connection between the starter solenoid and the starter, or that the starter motor itself has failed. Check the wires first. They're cheaper to replace. This also happens when the battery is very low, so it may be worth charging the battery if you haven't already eliminated that possibility.
Typically this signifies that your starter motor has either jammed, or is faulty. To check that it has not jammed, give it a whack on the end with a small hammer, or fairly large wrench. If that does the trick, then the starter motor was jammed, if not, you need a replacement starter motor.
Follow the red battery cable which will eventually lead you to the starter.
if the motor is spinng over then starter is ok
it start by starter motor
You need to check for power to the starter soleonoid when the key is turned If you have power to the small terminal and the starter is not turning then you quite possibly have a bad earth to the engine/gearbox.
Solenoid could be installed incorrectly. Could be electrical connection on the solenoid. Did you re-connect the battery? Could be a bad starter motor...or a stuck starter motor. Sometimes a light tap or two on the starter motor (not the solenoid) with a hammer will free it up.
Starter, or motor is locked,,, Turn the motor somehow, listen for A click, if you hear it the starter was jammed, It should start, If you turn the motor and you do not hear A click try it anyway if it still will not try to start it is likely the starter
When opened by the starter switch, it sends electricity from the battery to the starter motor to start the car.
did u bump start it? it may not be your card it could be your starter motor or even immobiliser, try a jump start first your starter maybe burnt out
Could be a problem with the starter motor, might be causing it to short out or something
By the use of auto transformer and bridge rectifier we can start dc motor.
the starter motor needs replacing
could be the starter motor
