1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Properly drain the cooling system into an approved container. 3. Remove all accessory drive belts or the serpentine belt. 4. Remove the alternator and bracket. 5. Unscrew the water pump pulley mounting bolts and then pull off the pulley. 6. Unfasten the mounting bolts, then remove the water pump. 7. Using a putty knife, clean the gasket mounting surfaces.
ALSO: on most vehicles you should take off the alternator as well, that way it will release the belt from getting in your way of removing the water pump.
After you have released the tension from the belt, remove the 2 obvious bolts that hold it to the engine block.
The belt tensioner pulley is held in place by a retaining bolt. The retaining bolt is in the center of the pulley. Remove the retaining bolt and the pulley will come off. Reverse the process to install the new pulley.
On the main drive serpentine belt, there is a tensioner pulle. it is positioned at 6:00. relieve tension remove belt. reverse process for reinstallation.

When looking at the engine from the front, the tension pulley is the only wheel on the drive belt that has the belt on the inside of it. All of the other pulleys have the belt going around the top of the pulley. The tension pulley has a bolt that can be loosened and then tightened to remove the drive belt.
The 1997 Chevy Cavalier dashboard is held in place with for retaining bolts and eight retaining clips. Remove the retaining bolts and pry outward on the retaining clips.
The 1995 Chevrolet Lumina dashboard is held in place with for retaining bolts and 12 retaining clips. Remove the retaining bolts and pry outward on the retaining clips.
Remove the decorative radio retaining plate. Remove the radio retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness, from the back of the radio.
Remove the decorative radio retaining plate. Remove the retaining screws. Pull the radio out. Remove the wiring harness. Remove the antenna cable.
Remove the speaker covers, by loosening the retaining screws. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness. The speakers will come out.
The 2000 Buick Century door panel is held in place with for retaining bolts and 10 retaining clips. Remove the retaining bolts and pry outward on the retaining clips.
