There are a few things that could cause an 87 Chevy Astro to idle high when it is started and warmed up. It could be a bad fuse, a leak in the vacuum, or an issue with the throttle.
The first thing that you need to do is check the FUEL pressure and fuel filter.

An idle problem could be a number of things like a vacuum leak or a dirty EGR valve. If the check engine light is on take it to an auto parts store and have them read the error code set in the computer.

Look for an intake manifold leaking at a cracked or disconnected hose or one of the gaskets to the cylinder head or throttle body.
The idle control solanoid is bad or dirty, could be hung open. the base gasket under the TBI could be blown or cracked. NEUTZ
