high oil pressure usually means that a liner in the engine cylander has dropped. take it to a mechanic
symptoms of high engine oil pressure
High Oil Pressure In an engine usually comes from a clogged crank case breather, or bad oil pump.. best advise is to do a pm and hope for the best
If the compression is high enough you get a diesel engine.
High oil pressure is not usually a problem. The relief will open around 100psi on most engines.
Cheek the pump
how do you replace a fitting from a high pressure oil pump that is leaking oil in a 2001 ford F350 diesel truck?
If your oil pressure gauge is high you have to much oil in your engine. Overfilling your engine can result in you blowing out your gaskets.
Any diesel engine should use any 15-40 weighted oil. Reason being is that because it is the heaviest and thickest engine oil and takes longer to break down due to incresed oil pressure experienced by a diesel engine.
Engine oil HIGH pressure from HPOP pump is TOO LOW. Sometimes just an oil change to 15-40 rotella can alleviate problem BUT usuallly the oil plugs push out of the high pressure pump and cause low oil pressure to the injectors or the ICP sensor failed. the injectors must have high pressure oil to open and allow fuel to flow. the 6.0 hpop is in engine valley just under oil filter housing..do not attempt to replace if your not a ford diesel tech..can be very expensive lesson if you're not familiar with this engine.. normal cost for this oil pump repair is about 3,000.00.
No
Most likely the problem is with the Pressure Sensor in the engine block.
The pressure will be high until the oil reaches full operating temperature.
