It was around the time of Andrew Jackson that the first gun control laws where passed.

1934 - The Saint Valentine's Day Massacre. Al Capone organises the murder of several opponents with machine guns. This leads to a firearms act.

1968 - In response to the murders of John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, a major Gun Control act bans criminals and people with mental illness from owning guns.

1981 - Interest in gun control increases after John Lennon is murdered and Ronald Reagan survives an assassination attempt.

1991 - More gun restrictions are passed. This includes the 'Brady Bill', named after James Brady, a Secretary who was badly injured by the attempt to kill Reagan.
