The U.S Constitution was written because we were now an independent nation and the Articles of Confederation were too weak to keep our nation stable. The Constitution was first not liked by Thomas Jefferson and the "Jeffersonians" because they did not support a strong government. They were also known as the Anti-Federalists. Alexander Hamilton, was a Federalist, and supported the Constitution. It had been later agreed that as long as there was a Bill of Rights, the Anti-Federalists would support the Constitution. After all, it was because their rights as Englishmen were non existant which caused the whole schism between the British and Americans.
