This depends entirely on the rules of the school and the thoughts of the student on the matter; almost all schools disallow the use of phones during class, but keeping the phone turned off will allow you to have it with you. Calling or texting during class is generally discouraged.

Answer

Cell phone companies will readily give directions for parental controls that can be placed on the phone during school hours. These can remove texting, web searches and phone calls during school and evening hours.

It depends on the school's policy. Some schools allow students to bring phones for emergencies or educational purposes, while others prohibit their use during school hours. Ultimately, it's important for students to follow their school's rules and guidelines regarding mobile phone usage.

Of course this is an opinion question but this is what I think. In the "real world" you aren't limited to what you have memorized, you use what is available, and this includes cell phones, computers, the internet, calculators, etc. no one's job is to sit in a room and memorize facts about Moby Dick. Rather, people need to be trained in how to use all their resources, the idea of information as valuable and scarce is laughable in this generation, rather, the skills are how you use the information you gathered. Education needs to adapt to this, because things aren't going back to the way they were in the 70s. Cell phones are a major part of technology and their use should be encouraged, not discouraged. and mobile phones are very important it can be used to sms instead of taking cause by sms ing it wont create any kind of noise or distraction and no one will interfere in the talk.

No. They distract students in class and if they are paying attention to the phone they are not listening to the teacher. The teacher must be able to teach to have the students learn. To learn students must pay attention. The word "learn" is a verb and means that an action is required by the learner.

The summary factors affecting the academic achievement of a student?

Factors affecting academic achievement include student's motivation, study habits, family support, socioeconomic background, teacher quality, and peer influence. Other factors include access to resources, school environment, and personal characteristics such as intelligence and attitude towards learning. All these factors interact to influence a student's academic success.

Factors that affect academic performance of the students?

Why Students FailSome reasons for college student failure may include:No vision. Some students do not have a clearly articulated picture of the future they intend to create for themselves. Thus, they may take programs of study without a clear career goal or objective. In essence, they choose the wrong major.Lack of passion. Successful students work out of passion, a love for what they want to do, and recognize the importance of the benefit it will bring others as well as themselves. Without passion, study becomes a chore and not a method for achieving clearly defined goals.Lack of personal/work/school/family balance. What ever is going on in a student's personal life, will inevitably affect what's going on in school. Whatever is happening in school will affect what's going on in their personal life. A student needs time to be in class, and appropriate time for study. However, there must be time for family, friends, social activities, and time to just be alone. The key is keeping proper balance.Lack of taking advantage of student resources. There is really no reason for academic failure. Every college and university has an academic learning center where students can receive peer and faculty tutoring, without charge. Many students fail to seek help.Attending the wrong college or university. Some students accept admission into schools they are not familiar with. Thus, they become depressed with their surroundings. Student must be content with their school, its environment, and resources. This, in turn has a negative affect on their studies.Lack of maturity and discipline. Some students are just not disciplined and lack good organizational skills. They often fall under the pressure of their peers. Rather than using good discretion, they feel compelled to follow others (socially), when they really should be attending to their studies. Again, lack of appropriate balance.Lack of Self Confidence.

No, the schools should provide most equipment. The student should bring the shoes (cleats, sneakers, etc) and gloves but the school should supply bats, helmets, balls, and uniforms. There are underprivileged kids who can't afford these and donations or fundraisers should occur to help these kids.

Why you should have phones in school?

In my opinion - mobile phones should not be allowed in schools ! The school will have contact numbers for every parent in case of emergency, and the parent can always phone the school if they need to get in touch with their child. Allowing children to bring mobiles into school (1) encourages bullying & (2) provides a distraction for the child to avoid following lessons. McDonalds is staffed by thousands of school-leavers who failed their exams because their mobile phone was more important !If a school-kid can't survive a few hours without their precious mobile... there's something seriously wrong !

Should mobiles be allowed in school why or why not?

Here are some opinions of WikiAnswers users. They shouldn't. You need to pay attention to your teachers. Your friends can call you after your lessons. There is no essential reason why a student should have a mobile phone in school. Your Mom and Dad can call the school or just go there if it's really necessary. Should the student need to make an essential call then they can use the schools 'phone. Yes. Starting in middle school you should be able to bring a phone to school. Answer 2) Of course. You should start bringing the mobile phone at 8 years old the younger children will be careless with it. It makes children feel safer but it must be a rule that the mobile phones must be switched off during class or else the ringtone will disturb the whole class No. mobile phones should not be allowed because some naughty children call their girlfriends/boyfriends or unknown people. It is dangerous and distractive at school..school has to be strict with this situation. because instead of learning they text or call technically, if students use cell phones in learning periods, then it detracts from lessons. but if it is used for emergencies and kept in knapsacks or lockers throughout lesson time and only used before and after class time, then there are no negative effects regarding lessons or the amount of learning that is able to take place
