There is a breather plate inside that has a small hole, if I remember correctly that little hole needs to be near the bottom. The plate can be installed upside down if your not careful then oil leaks.
oil leakage
In my 1993 Ford F-150, I had oil in the breather due to a blown head gasket.
There is a small chrome breather tube going to the air cleaner from the oil tank. After the bike sits all the oil drains down to the tank and when you first start the bike because of the low volume oil pump the some oil goes through the breather and into the air cleaner. you can go to a dealer they have a kit to fix that problem.
your oil resevoir is to full
The oil might be getting into the air breather of your 2000 S10 pickup if there is a leaky gasket on the engine. It could also indicate the air breather housing is cracked.
I have a 92 Tour Glide that was doing the same thing. It is most likely the oil pump check valve is either bad, stuck, or has build up of gunk on it. I took the external breather off and ran a long hose from it straight up, with the bike running and the breather on the end of the hose until it stopped blowing out. Then I changed my oil. Hope this helps. There is a Plug by the back push rods, remove the plug there is a screen under the plug. Clean the screen and reinstall it. this will fix you problem.
Engine oil coming from breather pipe
it is a pit which is used to drain leakage oil of transformers .AnswerIt's a walled area, surrounding a transformer, intended to contain any oil leakage from a transformer.
Make sure that you have enough oil in the system (oil level should between two marks on the oil stick). If you have severe leakage you need to fix it because your system might not even reach required level. If the light is flashing even after you have fixed the leak and level is proper you will have to check you oil filter and oil pump (this one is very pricey fix).
Check your oil, if it looks the same you may have a blown head gasket. If your oil looks okay you may just have had some water get in it from somewhere else. I found that i had milky residue in my breather and the problem ended up being the carb was forcing air back down the breather tube. When air is forced into a small space it compresses and moisturises. The solution was to take off the breather tube and put a cap or separate breather filter on it.
Breather pluged.
