Can man made disasters cause global warming?

Generally speaking no. Humans contribute to global warming by burning fossil fuels. The disaster, if we can call it that, is that some people prefer short term profit and convenience rather than facing up to the need for solutions.

Why is global warming now called climate change?

It is still called Global Warming, but many people are now talking about Climate Change.Global warming is the way the world is warming (through burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and deforestation). But global warming is CAUSING Climate change.

What do people think global warming is?

Global warming is the wake up call for people to become more concerned about the environment and it has resulted to the modifications on the way people usually live their lives. People are more conscious when it comes to the usual choices in life like choosing energy saving appliances or using refurnished toner and inkjet cartridges.

How is haze related to global warming?

In 2007 the United States Supreme Court ruled that Carbon dioxide is a pollutant and so the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has the right to regulate CO2 emissions from new cars. Any burning of fossil fuels like gasoline releases long-hidden carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas. This extra gas is too much for the natural carbon cycle to remove from the atmosphere, so it remains there capturing the sun's heat and causing global warming.A:One definition of pollutant is "A substance or energy introduced into the environment that has undesired effects, or adversely affects the usefulness of a resource." Global warming, or climate change, is being caused by the enhanced greenhouse effect. This is caused by the extra carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). It is also caused by methane belched from the many cows that are being raised just to feed red meat to the huge population of the world. These greenhouse gases are the pollution that is directly causing global warming.A:When pollution builds up in Earth's atmosphere, it can't escape. Heat from the sun shines through the pollution (greenhouse gases) and the greenhouse gases act almost like a greenhouse, trapping heat. So as more greenhouse gases build up, more heat is trapped in Earth's atmosphere, therefore causing Earth to heat up, and causing Global Warming. A:Pollution is the main cause of global warming. Pollutants such as greenhouse gases are often trapped in the atmosphere. As a result, heat is retained inside. This heat is what causes temperatures around the globe to rise thus causing global warming.Smoke from the factories and vehicles contain harmful chemicals which can also cause air pollution. Those air will gather to form clouds and later then will fall as a rain which is polluted and we call this as acid rain. Acid rain can damage the buildings and even can cause plants to die. Plants are the only living thing that can take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. if those plants will die, there will be to much co2 and lack of 02 in the air. That will be result in global warming.A:Air pollution occurs when any harmful gases and particles are sent into the atmosphere. Constant burning of fossil fuels is pumping large amounts of carbon dioxide and other gases into the atmosphere. The world's demand for red meat means that more and more cattle are produced, and methane gas from their ruminating is adding to the greenhouse gases.

Why does fossil fuels have that name?

This is not so. The term Fossil Fuel was coined by DJ Rockafeller who wanted to manipulate the markets and had organisations could agree to the term so that he couldf make a killing on what is in actual fact natural fuels generated by our planet. This has nothing to do with dinosaurs or similar being fossilized!

Does Global Warming affect everyone?

yes, that's why they call it GLOBAL warming

What is wrong with fossil fuels?

Fossil fuel is so much a part of our life that it is hard to call it "wrong" but there should not be wasteful usage of these fuels. The primary fossil fuels are oil, gas and coal. The earth contains a limited quantity of these fuels. Many of the deposits of these fuels we will never be able to tap because they are too remote, small or expensive to recover. Offshore deposits of oil may lie in water too deep to make commercial discoveries. As we use fossil fuels, we are forced to explore more remote parts of the world to find more fossil fuels. As a result the cost of fossil fuels increases. We obtain energy from fossil fuels by burning them, and the products from combustion can contaminate the air. There is a greenhouse effect from this combustion which contributes to global warming. Combustion of gasoline in our cars releases a number of pollutants that can be harmful to our health, particularly in cities. In addition, acid rain can harm our forests.I have included 3 related links, but you can find much more information on the internet on future challenges of fossil fuel use.

What do you call those people that turn fossil fuels into fuel?

Refiners.

Why do some people call it buried sunshine?

fossil fuelsI assume you are talking about fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas). You can call these buried sunshine since the energy in fossil fuels comes from decaying plants and microorganisms. Those plants and microorganisms got their energy originally from the sun. So all the energy in fossil fuels originally came from the sun.

How an international telephone call is sent and received?

i blame global warming

Why do some people want to call global warming climate change?

Climate change sounds a bit more benign than global warming. However, the two things are not the same. Climate change is actually the result of global warming.

Where are fossil fuels mainly used?

fossil fuels are mainly used in power plants to create energy some of these fossil fuels could be coal etc. Fossil fuels burnt make 2 different gasses witch rise and make rain witch is call acid rain . Witch can damage wildlife and other things. The truth is that fossil fuels are mainly used to feed thing that are destined to become fossils. Anything else is a myth as oil is abiotic.

How do plants and animals store energy found in fossil fuels?

Plants and animals both store energy found in fossil fuels by going threw a system call cell fertilization thru out their life.

Which biogeochemical cycle includes a reservoir underground stored as fossil fuels?

Carbon Cycleor if you want to call it the Carbon/ Oxygen Cycle

Why do people call fossile fuels finite?

Finite, the opposite of infinite, refers to something that has an end or will end. The universe is infinite, whereas fossil fuels will someday be exhausted, and we can't make more.
