Use the circular key, once inserted into tailgate, turn key to the left of right to make window go up and down..
this is the biggest pain i ever had to do when i had my bronco... but its simple, just take the plate off of the inside of the tailgate (tailgate could be up or down, down is easier), find the motor, unplug it and remove the couple bolts that are holding it in. careful not to cut yourself there isn't much room to work. the hardest part is getting it back in. good luck!
In most cases the window is not stuck. The fact is, the tailgate is not make enough contact with the sensor(s) that prevent you from rolling up the rear window when the tailgate is open. To roll up the window, first try shutting the tailgate with some force, as opposed to lightly, to ensure that it is shut well enough to make contact with the sensor. If the window still will not roll up, with the tailgate closed, push forceably on the upper drivers side corner of the tailgate, while you turn the key to roll up the window. If this does not work, start checking the typical electronics, fuse, wiring, etc...
check your tailgate switch on the dash mine went bad and after i replaced it it was like new
I have a 91 bronco and I've had problems myself with the rear window. First check the fuse panel to see if the fuse for the rear window is blown. I believe its a 20 amp. Also if the interior switch and the key switch on the tailgate both dont work, try pushing in on the tailgate while trying to move the window down or up
Try lubing all moving parts then.....good luck using the motor
There is a control arm that attaches to you tailgate release, chance are this or another one of these arms has come out of it's retaining clip. Remove the inside panel on the tailgate, about 6 to 8 screws. This will allow you access, though tight, into the area of the motor, gears and control arms. If you have tint on your window slide a piece of cardboard in to protect from being scratched while your working in there.
the window has to be all the way down
On my Jeep Wrangler, I have to open the tailgate first, then just lift up on the window.
open tailgate. unclip the cables that hold tailgate level they will unclip from the top anchor post without using any tools.then lift tailgate from left side so as tailgate hinge comes up from pivot point. then slide tailgate little to the left and you should have tailgate in your hands
you have to roll the window down and opend it from the inside. You are not supposed to opend it with the window up because it could break.
As far as I know there is no way to get the window down other than removing the motor itself. The motor is what holds the window up when closed. Make sure its the motor that has failed. There is also a switch located on the drivers side latch inside the gate that is designed to not allow the window to open when the gate is down. If that switch fails it the window motor will not function at all. I used a wire jumper to bypass the switch and solved my problem.
Turning the window crank in a counter clockwise direction, the window will go down, reverse direction to raise it. If you are speaking of the rear window the switch is on the a/c control panel. Down makes the window go down and up is up
