It really really REALLY depends on your body's state at the minute. Are you really overweight or do you just want to drill through some fat to reveal your abs?

I'm no personal trainer, dietitian or anything professional. I'm a student with a decent idea of how to care for my body. From a general point of view, everything in moderation. You don't have to go on a crazy diet, just cut out the crap. Eat 3 balanced meals per day at regular time intervals.

As far as exercise goes, this depends completely on where you want to burn the fat from on your body, and how much you need to loose. Google is your friend. There are plenty of good exercise websites that give good plans and exercises for free. Find a range of exercises that focus on the areas you want to improve. Alternatively, talk to a personal trainer. You don't have to pay them at first, most will give you a consultation to draw up a plan of action. If you are happy with the plan they come up with give them some money and let them take you through the plan. They will give you nutritional advice and a whole heap of help.

Remember, EVERYTHING IN MODERATION!. Don't starve yourself, don't stuff yourself. Don't kill yourself with exercise, don't be lazy.
