All you need to do is find the hood cable through the grill or by going underneath the car then just pull on it. You may not hear a pop but just pull on it and then try to open it like you normally would. After you have it open you may want to remove the front upper grill because it will be extremely easy to open next time.
When the hood is stuck you need to push down on the hood just above the "H", sometimes quite hard. Then the hood release will work and open the hood.
Pull the hood release inside the vehicle, go to the front of the hood and depress the latch in the center of the hood.
you have to pull hood release then get out of car and pull up on the hood like you were to open it. then get back in car and pull hood release again. then get back out of car and open hood that should work. i have a 1999 Volvo v70 xc awd cross country and that's what i do for mine. ;)
go through the grill and use a heavy duty screwdriver to pry back the latch
With a pair of pliers pulling the latch.
"pop" the hood with the in car lever. get a pair of pliars and grab the wire that the plastic hood release was connected to.....this should work!
if you can pull out the cable cut off some of the cable were you can see the wire inside and pull the cable to open
To open the locked bonnet, or hood on a 1999 BMW 525 TDS, pull on the release handle inside the vehicle on the driver's side. The hood might be indicated as open if the cable is broken or stretched.
if able put a vise grip on it and pull
Pull the hood release cable by your left foot.
have you tried using two people at a time to open the hood - one to pull on up on the hood while the other pulls the interior release? only way my '94 Accord would open. (or I prised release open with a screw-driver and pulled the hood myself) hope it helps Yeah, I tried that to no avail. The cable seems to be broken at the latch mechanism. I don't think I can remove the grill, either, without the hood open. I can get a screw driver into the hood space but there doesn't seem to be any access to the catch spring. Anyone have any other thoughts? This happened with my daughter's '96 Accord, I don't know if it will work on a Civic. I crawled under the front of the car and "carefully" slid a long metal rod up past the radiator and pushed on the release lever for the hood.
the hood is open
