If you have a disk stuck in a computer's disk drawer, look for a small hole somewhere near the drawer. Insert a straightened-out paper clip into this hole, and the disk drawer should open.
Unless there is something stuck in the CD tray or the gears are jammed, you should be able to engage the gear to close the drawer by pushing the drawer closed (not too hard) with your hand.

A DVD player drawer that is stuck open or partly open quite often has been pushed on one of its corners, not in the middle toclose it. The result is that the drawer is slightly sideways with respect to the grooved slides that it travels in, causing the drawer to wedge tightly where it is. You can try finding the corner of the drawer that is farthest into the grooved slides, and pull it firmly out a tiny amount. Don't push your luck . . . you may break the drawer. If that doesn't work, try removing the top of the player by taking out a number of screws. Then you can look right down on the entire drawer mechanism, and it is usually easy to gently wiggle the drawer around until it clicks back into place.

I have had good results by inserting a long thin bladed knife or thin ruler between the top of the drawer and the part of the case above it. By doing this I am often able to press the things down that are making the drawer stick or otherwise push them out of the way.
