You can tell if a guy is using you by breaking up with you for another girl, than wen that girl breaks up with him or they dont work out and breakup he asks you back out so he can always have a girlfriend until he finds some one he reallly likes! As much as u like him dont fall for him again!! Trust me this happend to me Decent relationships are reciprocal and there is a balance between the couple in terms of aspects such as self-disclosure and the give-and-take between people. While a man may ardently pursue and *say* all the right things, look at his ACTIONS and allow those to be the indicators of your interpersonal reality. A man who is emotionally uncommitted is a man who is in effect making use of you by taking advantage of the benefits of a relationship that come with intimacy, sex, cohabitation or whatever the circumstances are between you, without actually being *there* in the relationship you share in the way that you are and therefore without valuing and respecting you as a whole person and as his equal. The best way to avoid being "used" or taken advantage of is to avoid placing yourself in circumstances where a man *can* take advantage without assuming responsibility. One the horse has bolted and you've drifted into sexual intimacy and/or cohabitation, it's often too late to close the gate without a great deal of hurt because you've crossed a boundary and because you've made yourself emotionally vulnerable. If you're little more than a sexual partner who does the caretaking in the relationship with a man who's sitting on a fence and emotionally and otherwise uncommmitted to the relationship you're in, more often than not making *his* interests a priority while sacrificing your mutual interests as a couple, that's a pretty good indicator that the man you're involved with is *selfish* and unable or unwilling to have a healthy relationship, probably owing to a host of factors that even he himself may not have fully assessed and come to terms with. Look to yourself primarily and make your own decision. Determine what you will and will not abide by. Look at the issues from your point of view and your capabilities. What are you prepared to sacrifice? Don't listen to his excuses and allow him to cloud your judgment when it comes to having the relationship you want and deserve to have, or you'll find yourself wasting more and more of your life on a man who is at the end of the day incapable of being there wholly for you in the way you need him to be -- and there is no way to regain what is lost to such a man. If you are unhappy and if you *feel* like you're being used or taken advantage of or if you feel the man in your life is not *there*, the odds are he isn't. From my experience, I wouldn't even attempt to negotiate. It's best to cut your losses there and then and to move on to live your own life rather than to give of yourself to a man who is a taker who's there for a good time to be had and no more. It's easier said than done when you're emotionally involved and invested, but I honestly think this is the only way unless what's at issue is of a fairly minor nature and you're happy with what there is in the present on the whole.
