Next time you change the oil, use a higher viscosity oil and see if the oil pressure comes up. If it does, the problem isn't the oil pump, it's worn bearings. BTW, oil pumps seldom fail. When main and/or rod bearings wear the gap between the bearing and the crankshaft becomes large enough that the oil pump cannot move enough volume of oil to keep the oil PRESSURE up. A higher viscosity oil will slow the rate at which the oil leaks past the worn bearings.
