There is no power steering filter
All Ford Taurus power steering systems take MERCON V Transmission Fluid.
First check that theer is enough power steering fluid in it, if that doesn't solve the problem then it needs reapir or replacement when it gets worse.
The squeal is often caused by the power steering belt slipping. Check the serpentine belt to see if it needs replacement.
