2nd Answer:
First read up on the breed, Border Collie, learn all you can about the breed. Educate yourself. Go to AKC dog shows and watch the border collies that are being shown. Talk to the owners about the breed (but wait until after they have shown their dog). Look at what the correct conformation should be, what genetic defects do they have as a breed? Then when you look for a pup you will actually know what to look for. Find a recommended breeder who breeds to better the breed and checks for genetic faults in the parents before being bred. Check out the temperament and conformation at 8 weeks of age. There is a standard temperament test you can follow. If the breeder is honest he or she will tell you what each pup is like but I still like to do my own temperament tests to see is any shyness, aggressiveness, etc.

Take a dog bone treat, or any treat of any kind, and set it on her nose. If she can retrieve the treat without moving her body at all and just moving her neck (like good bred collie's do) then you'll know.

There is no way that you can tell immediately after intercourse, but her teats will start to swell and she will gain weight. Sometimes a veterinarian can confirm a pregnancy.
border collies are part springer spaniel...they are related, but have very different temperments. Border collies are herding dogs, spaniels are hunting dogs.

Not all horses have brands, a good way to tell the age of a horse is by the teeth.
One way to tell the approximate age of a border collie is by their teeth. If they have all their adult teeth and the teeth are bright white, the dog is probably approximately one to two years old. As a dog ages, their teeth become stained and worn. It is an estimate on the age of a dog because a dog who aggressively chews may have worn down teeth when only a couple of years old.
first u pick up the phone then dial 911, if the cops come tell them ur dog needs rescued and then run away before they arrest you for a false alarm
this could start a debate, however, the Border Collie is supposed to have the best hearing and the most intellect, but every dog lover will tell you it is THEIR dog breed that is the cutest, smartest and has the best hearing and smell! Also the best looking!!!
Take it to the vet
It is not true about if you raise them together from a young age. That is what we did with our cat and Border Collie, and our Border Collie repeatedly attacks our cat almost to the point of killing her.
Ask for a pedigree from the place you got it from.
most dogs are pretty clever, however, the border collie is supposedly the most intelligent, however, this could be cause for a debate, because most dog owners will tell you that THEIR dog is the most beautiful and the most intelligent! ( Cat owners feel the same way as well!!!)
