I use Vinlink.com to decode VINs...It provides engine info via the VIN #
Yes, the VIN number will identify the model, color, engine, trim, and other features of your vehicle.
The Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, only identifies the body and frame of the vehicle. There is no VIN number on the engine and the engine number is not related to the VIN.
there is no engine vin vin stands for vehicle identification number
Get under the engine bay and uses a flashlight to find the VIN. The VIN stamp will vary from vehicle to vehicle, but will be mounted somewhere on the engine block. Some older vehicles will contain a serial number instead of a VIN. Match up the VIN from the engine block to the VIN on the vehicle. If the engine block has a serial number instead of a VIN then contact the manufacture dealer to see what serial number the original engine block had. .
There are some website out there. That just by you providing your VIN number it can tell you what engine or transmission you have on your vehicle. As soon as I find it, I will post for you.
On a 17 digit VIN , the 8th " character " of the VIN will indicate which engine you have
The easy answer is NO, but if you were to take the vin to the manufacturer they could tell you what type of engine the vehicle was originally fitted with ie; 4,6,8 cyl the actual original engine capacity can be obtained through manufacturer records depending on the age of the vehicle. Some vehicles did only offer single engine capacities in selected model/cyl configurations so if you are lucky enough to be searching for one of these then the VIN could be enough!!
A VIN will tell you country of manufacture and manufacturer, model, year, build plant, trim, engine and transmission options. It will not give a vehicle history.
yes. the vin tells where the car was made the order it was put together in the year the engine size the make and model and what type of vehicle it is (coupe/sedan/ convertable/ etc) and its country of origin
yes the 8th digit of the vin on American cars will tell you the engine size.
I have a 1995 Mack Vin#1M1AA13YOSW053225. Can you please tell me where to find the engine number and how many are they?
Google search VIN decoders. I can't remember which digit it is either 3,5, or 8 but one of them is the power plant that the vehicle came with stock. If you have a Chiltons or Haynes manual for your vehicle, they typically have a VIN decoder in the front them.
