http://market.autopartsfair.com /Ford-transmissions/find_product.html?model=crown_victoria&year=1992 Sorry, I don't know how you can tell the difference. You may have to dig into the details on the URL above and see what the differences are. You could also go to a transmission shop and ask them, I went to a local AAMCO and they were more than helpful in telling me which tranny I had.
I remove the starter and test it, then take a pry bar and try to tun the motor over by inserting it into the teeth of the flywheel.
ENGINE SIZE IN THE 1995 FORD CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR IS 4.7 LITER.
what are the symptoms if my transmission filter is clogged on my 1992 merzades es400
Have the code read, that will tell you.
No Ford Crown Victoria or Police intercaptor has dual overhead cams. The dual overhead cam engines were only used in Mustangs and Lincoln MK8's.

The o/d button is on the end of the shifter. Usually you leave it on all the time. If you turn it off, it will tell you on the dash. The transmission is electronic and it will shift with the speed of the car. You turn it off if you are pulling a trailer.
Try a wobble extension . You may need to use a universal joint in addition to reach the bolt on the 97 Crown Victoria.
Iive got a 1992 crown vic and i got 22's on it and it doesnt rub any. People were trying to tell me they wont fit but i did it any way. I can turn as sharp as I want and my rims dont rub at all. Take it as you want though.

I am looking for the fuse box on my 1986 Crownvictoria can some body please tell me where it is?
It would depend on the maintenance and care the engine has had. I can tell you that our fleet consisted of many retired police cars most of which had 100K plus hard miles when we received them. It was rare to lose an engine. More commonly the transmission would fail.
