Your stator mite have gone bad. I had the same prob on my 98 grizzly 2 yrs ago and that's what it ended up being. But I also changed the computer box on the frame
Check the kill switch. and the ignition switch. If no power check all fuses.
The coil to the spark plug is called an ignition coil on a Yamaha EF600. It is also referred to as the spark coil. These two terms are used for any coil to the spark plug in a vehicle.
Yamaha doesn't use points. There's a magnet on the flywheel and a coil mounted next to the flywheel. When the magnet passes the coil, the spark is triggered.

First you need to unplug the two plugs coming out of the stator, you will see one with three prong holes: that's for the source coil and the other has four that is where you check your pickup coil, depending on what year you have, there will be two coils on the early years 87- maybe up to 90 or 92, after that just a single onward. The color coding on the wires you will have to get out of a Yamaha factory manual, to figure out which coil is bad, the Clymer manual won't show you the color to each coil.
its not exactly a normal pickup but it is under the left side cover
take the front plastic loose or off and then wish you had small hands and arms.
Generally, .028" unless you have a weak stator or coil.
try taking the ignition control module to oreilly's to have it tested. How long ago were the plugs wires cap and rotor replaced?
if its a virago 1100 theres two screws (philips) in between the forks right in front the motor hope this helps
