Empires are very profitable. The British got very rich from theirs. More taxes, more troops, more trade, more slaves, more political power. Britain gained tea, rice, spice, and cotton from India and America, and even Natural Resources such as gold from Africa, tobacco and sugar, which England either manufactured into other products, like sugar cane into sweets, cotton into cloth, or merchant the produce.

Did Spain fight in the Revolutionary War?

Yup! Britain invaded and took over North America but had no intrest in Southern America as it had no benifit to them. America wanted Britain out and had previously had 5 attempts to remove Britain from America but failed. Then America joined Forces with Spain and France who also wanted there freedom from British rule. The French,Spanish and Americans fought Britain for 7 long years in an attempt to remove the British, then the war was ended by a treaty and Britain pulled out. At the same time Britain was fighting 3 other wars wich had much more importance and alot more to lose/gain with Napolean and the French Empire,Mongol Empire and Japanese Empire. Southern America was to young a country and had nothing for the British to gain.
