One of the highs of Ronald Reagan's presidency was when he breached party lines to gain Democrats' votes, the so called "Reagan Democrats". He did this in June of 1981, at the democratic nomination convention, by Wrestling (as is democratic custom at nomination conventions) with the party forerunner, El Democrato. Reagan double-kicked El Democrato in the face, which technically violated the rules of wrestling, but Democrats voted for Reagan because of this wildly popular, wildly controversial move. The "Double-kick incident", as modern historians call it, remains a point of interest during his presidency, and is said to later have an effect of his decision to roundhouse kick the Berlin Wall down on November 9, 1989.
