Italy entered the war on the side of the Entente in 1915 and hoped for rich pickings from Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire. Italy fought badly in WW1 and needed a lot of military support from Britain and France. In 1919 Italy was given the Southern Tirol. After a lot of initial problems it also got Trieste and Fiume (plus hinterland) but Italian nationalists were very disappointed. Moreover, the currency had fallen in value by 90%+, there was widespread labour unrest and fear of Bolshevism. In 1922 Mussolini and his Fascists seized power.
In politics Mussolini was kicked out of the Socialist party in Italy. In the beginning Italy did not get involved in the war which horrified the nationalists and was supported by the socialists. Further the sign of Treaty of Versailles meant that Britain offered a huge section of territory in Adriatic Sea which made them support Britain in war.
In World War 1, Italy was a wild card and presented herself as a participant who could join either side depending on the prospects. She was swayed to the Allies' side by promise of new territories.
Italy entered the war in 1915 on the entente side (British, French, Russia, Serbian, American, ect) and defeated Austro-Hungarian empire by squeezing it on the West side while the Russians on the east side.
World War I had several different effects on Italy. As many historians and students know, Italy is common referred to as the "ultimate display of military cowardess." Many would argue this to be true. During World War I and World War II, Itally made several jumps between the Axis and the Allied forces. We know of the brilliant military mind which dominated over Italian forces and territory in the second World War, Benito Muscellini. However, during World War I, Itally did not have such a commander behind its fleet, and thus suffered a dramatic beating during the war. Such lack of leadership would spawn Italy's requirement to "jump ship" frequent times during the two world wars. The First world war was merely a lack and severe loss of confidence in the Italian government and military. (P.S. This is not the right answer to some peoples Questions.) Italy sided with France and Britain and fought the Austrians on the Italian Alps. Its aim was to acquire the northeast of Italy, which was still under Austrian rule. At the end of the war she annexed Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a region along the current borders with Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and the region of Trentino-Alto Adige, also in the northeast. Part of this latter area is the South Tyrol, which is German-speaking. The rest of Tyrol is the east of Austria.

Domestic politics refers to political activities within a specific country, involving policies and decisions that impact that nation. Global politics, on the other hand, involves interactions and relationships between countries on an international scale, covering issues like diplomacy, trade, and security. Domestic politics focus on internal governance, while global politics address relationships and dynamics between countries.
