Henry the Navigator led the first sea voyage that attempted to reach India. Although he never made it all the way around Africa, he inspired future sea voyages that would eventually reach India by sailing around Africa. Before this, the only way Europe could trade with Asia was on the silk road, which was dangerous and took a very long time. Once these European explorers made it to India, they were able to do significantly more trade with India and other Asian countries. The introduction of this trade route, inspired by Prince Henry, led the world to be more connected, specifically Europe and Asia.
